Death comes to everyone in this
Dear friend, I want you to have a good understanding of death and what happens after death. Many false ideas are widely held about this subject.
Everyone who dies goes to the grave.
No one goes directly to heaven.
There is no eternal punishing in a burning hell. Hell is only unconscious death.
Briefly: Those who die in the faith will be resurrected at the Messiah's return (which may happen before the year 2040). They will then have a spirit existence as Yahweh's children. Those who die without believing will be resurrected with a healthy physical body one thousand years later, with all the other dead, to be judged according to their works. Those good people who were ignorant of Yahweh's message will be given an opportunity to hear and obey before being judged. Dear friend, please write after you finish this booklet and the article "Soul and Spirit" if you would like a more full explanation of these principles. It is important that you understand this topic.
Luke 20:34 And Yahshua answered
and said to them, "The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage.
35 But those who are counted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection
from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; 36 nor can they
die anymore, for they are like the angels and are sons of Elohim, being
sons of the resurrection.
Psalms 90:1 Yahweh, You have been our dwelling place in all generations.
2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are Elohim.
3 You turn man to destruction, and say, "Return, O children of men."
4 For a thousand years in Your sight are like yesterday when it is past, and a watch in the night.
5 You carry them away like a
flood; They are like a sleep.
In the morning they are like grass which grows up:
6 In the morning it flourishes
and grows up;
in the evening it is cut down and withers.
7 For we have been consumed by Your anger, and by Your wrath we are terrified.
8 You have set our iniquities before You, our secret sinsin the light of Your countenance.
9 For all our days have passed away in Your wrath; We finish our years like a sigh.
10 The days of our lives are seventy years; and if by reason of strength eighty years, yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we faint away.
11 Who knows the power of Your anger? For as the fear of You, so is Your wrath.
12 So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
13 How long until you return, O Yahweh? And have compassion on Your servants.
14 Oh, satisfy us early with Your mercy, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days!
15 Make us glad according to the days in which You have afflicted us, the years in which we have seen evil.
16 Let Your work appear to Your servants, and Your glory to their children.
17 And let the beauty of Yahweh our Elohim be upon us, and establish the work of our hands for us.
Yes, establish the work of our
John 5:21 "For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will. 22 For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son 23 that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.
24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. 25 Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of Elohim; and those who hear will live. 26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, 27 and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.
28 "Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice 29 and come forth. Those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation."
John 6:47 "Most assuredly, I
say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life: 48 I am the bread
of life. 49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead
50 This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of
it and not die 51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If
anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall
give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world."
Ecclesiastes 9:5 The living know
that they will die; But the dead know nothing, and they have no more reward,
for the memory of them is forgotten.
Psalms 115:17 The dead do not
praise Yahweh, nor any who go down into silence.
1 Corinthians 15:51 Look, I will reveal a secret to you. Not all of us will die, but we shall all be changed 52 in a moment, in the blink of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised to live forever, and we too shall be changed.
53 For this material which can decay must put on imperishability, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when what decays has put on imperishability, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory." [Isaiah 25:8] 55 "O Death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory?" [Hosea 13:14].
56 The sting of death is sin, and sin draws it's power from the law. 57 But thanks be to Yahweh, who gives us the victory through our master Yahshua [His name means ‘Yahweh saves'] the Messiah.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren,
stand firm and immovable, always doing the work of Yahweh vigorously, knowing
that, united with the Master, your efforts are not in vain.
1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Yahshua died and rose again, even so the Master will bring with Him those who sleep in Yahshua.
15 For this we say to you by the word of Yahweh, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Master will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Master Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of Elohim. And the dead in the Messiah will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Master in the air. And thus we shall always be with Yahweh.
18 Therefore comfort one another
with these words.
In this passage from Philippians, Paul talks about dying to be "with the Messiah." We understand that he will be with Him in the next moment of his consciousness but that may be many years after he actually dies.
Philippians 1:20 According to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also the Messiah will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.
21 For to me, to live is the Messiah, and to die is gain. 22 But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from mylabor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. 23 For I am hard pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with the Messiah, which is far better.
24 Nevertheless to remain in
the flesh is more needful for you. 25 And being confident of this, I know
that I shall remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy
of faith, 26 that your rejoicing for me may be more abundant in Yahshua
the Messiah by my coming to you again.
Later Paul writes to Timothy:
2 Timothy 1:12 For this reason
I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom
I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed
to Him until that Day.
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed
for men to die once, but after this the judgment, 28 so the Messiah was
offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him
He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of Yahweh and the faith of Yahshua.
13 Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, "Write: 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Master from now on.' "
"Yes," says the Spirit, "that
they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them."
Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy
is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death
has no power, but they shall be priests of Yahweh and of the Messiah, and
shall reign with Him a thousand years.
